Bob Boiko

Bob Boiko is founder and president of Metatorial Services Inc., and is a faculty member of the University of Washington Information School. In 2004, Bob sparked the creation of CM Professionals, the first and only content management organization for practitioners.

Recognized world-wide as a leader in the field of content management, he has almost 20 years of experience designing and building Web, hypertext and multimedia systems and tools for some of the world's top technology corporations (including Microsoft, Motorola, and Boeing). Bob has sat on many advisory boards and is the recipient of many awards including the 2005 EContent 100 Award for leadership in the content management industry. He is author of two editions of "The Content Management Bible" and the upcoming book "Laughing at the CIO: Leading Information Management in the Information Age". Bob is internationally known for his lectures and workshops.

Bob is an extremely skilled analyst, facilitator, teacher, designer, and architect and has extensive expertise in content and knowledge management, authoring, multimedia design, Web publishing and tool construction. He has undergraduate degrees in physics and oceanography and a graduate degree in human communication.

The University of Washington's Information School is a group dedicated to helping shape the emerging electronic information discipline. At the iSchool, Bob has trained hundreds of information professionals and designed programs in content management. Metadata, business analysis, information initiative planning, information architecture, information system design, and public access to information are some of the skills Bob brings to the table.

Before Metatorial Services, Bob co-founded Chase Bobko Inc. and built it into a leading content management service provider. Within Chase Bobko, Bob served as President, Head of Development, Head of Sales and Marketing, and Head of Operations. Bob and his two partners grew Chase Bobko from a staff of 6 to a staff of over 100.

Tony White is the Lead Analyst for the Gilbane Group's Web Content Management Consulting Practice, and contributor to the Web Content Management blog. Over the past ten years, Tony White has been an analyst at both Giga Information Group (now Forrester Research) and the Yankee Group, and has served in senior marketing roles at Interwoven and BroadVision. More recently, Tony has founded Ars Logica, Inc., a high-tech marketing and advisory firm offering a range of strategic and tactical marketing services to software vendors and providing needs-analysis/product-selection support to enterprise clients. In addition to hosting and speaking at analyst, vendor, and user conferences across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, Tony has delivered competitive analyses to the sales forces of companies such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and BEA. David Aponovich is a content management strategist at interactive agency ISITE Design in Cambridge, MA, and is one of the bloggers responsible for the CMS MythBusters blog. David consults with clients around their website goals and how content management supports their strategy.

David’s background includes marketing web content management systems and online marketing, as well as web publishing and online technology/business journalism. Prior to joining ISITE in late 2006, he was Director of Marketing for web content management software vendor Ektron, where he created online and offline marketing strategies, grew market visibility and adoption and spoke to audiences on web content management tools and strategies. Earlier, David was a Senior Web Editor for Aberdeen Group in Boston, MA, and Web Editor for online technology publisher Internet.com (JupiterMedia).

Mollye Barrett is a content management and technical communication consultant at ClearPath, where she develops strategies for optimizing content, improving the authoring environment and planning for business continuity. In her work with technical publication groups to implement XML-based content management systems, Mollye presents vendor-neutral content management options that focus on business case, document and workflow analysis, single-source writing and translation. Mollye is the Marketing Communication Director for Content Management Professionals (CM Pros), a senior member of Society for Technical Communication (STC), Immediate Past President of the STC Wisconsin Chapter and founder of the chapter mentoring program.

Jeff Cram co-founded ISITE Design in 1997 and heads up ISITE Design Boston as its Managing Director. Cram has played an integral role in establishing the agency as a national leader in Web strategy, design and technology services. Cram has consulted for companies including Siemens, Xerox, Nike, Nintendo and WebTrends. He is a frequent speaker at national conferences on topics including Web analytics, search engine marketing and Web usability. Prior to ISITE Design, Cram worked for Nike as a Web communications consultant and led Web initiatives for WebTrends, the market leader in Web analytics solutions. Cram resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Linfield College.

Don is an industry analyst, author, and corporate strategist with expertise in business- and marketing-focused application of technology. He lectures, writes, and is frequently quoted on the topics of online marketing, content management, multicultural marketing, localization, return on investment, and website globalization. His book, "Business Without Borders: A Strategic Guide to Global Marketing," is widely used in universities and in business training courses.

Since 2002, he has led Common Sense Advisory's research into the best practices, technology, and professional services that support business globalization.

Don regularly speaks at business conferences and academic symposia to educate people about the importance of and best practices for globalization. Seth has been implementing content management and knowledge management projects for over 12 years and has been in the technology field for 20 + years. He is founder of the Boston Knowledge Management Forum and co-author of Practical Knowledge Management from the IBM Press. He is former adjunct professor at Northeastern University, where he taught graduate courses in Knowledge Management Infrastructure and E Business Strategy.

Seth has developed search, content and knowledge strategies for global organizations and has developed underlying taxonomies for a diverse roster of Fortune 1000 companies. He is a popular speaker and workshop leader at conferences throughout North America speaking on intranet design, knowledge management, content management systems and strategy, taxonomy development and other related topics.

Heather Hedden
Heather Hedden

Principal of Hedden Information Management

Heather Hedden, principal of Hedden Information Management, is an information design and management professional, with a specialization in taxonomies, indexing, and search. She had over eight years’ experience in controlled vocabulary management and thesaurus development at Gale (Cengage Learning) before starting her own business. Previously she worked as a periodical database indexer with Gale’s predecessor, Information Access Company. As senior vocabulary editor at Gale, she also developed taxonomies for web search interfaces. From January 2007 through July 2008 she worked full time as an information taxonomist for the enterprise search software developer Viziant Corporation.

Heather teaches online courses in taxonomies and in web site indexing, both independently and through the Continuing Education Program of Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. She has given numerous presentations and published many articles on taxonomies, indexing, and other information management topics and has recently written a book, Indexing Specialties: Web Sites, published jointly by the American Society for Indexing and Information Today, Inc. Heather also has a background in writing and editing, including reference book essays, abstracts, technical documentation, and magazine and newspaper articles. More recently she developed skills in web site design, both in writing HTML and CSS code and using HTML editors, such as Dreamweaver.

Heather served as vice president and then president of the New England Chapter of the American Society for Indexing in 2005 and 2006 respectively. In January 2005 she restarted the previously inactive Web Indexing Special Interest Group of the American Society for Indexing and served as its manager for two years. Currently she is the SIG's treasurer. In 2007 she founded the Taxonomies & Controlled Vocabularies Special Interest Group, which she currently heads.

Bruce Nevin is a Program Manager and Information Architect for Cisco Systems, reporting to the Service Provider Technology Group. He has 28 years of experience in technical documentation as a writer, online help developer, manager, infrastructure developer, and information architect, working continuously for the “same” employer from his start as a Documentation Manager with Bolt Beranek & Newman in January 1982 through the acquisition of BBN’s LightStream subsidiary by Cisco in January 1995. Bruce earned degrees in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania (BA 1968, MA 1970, Ph.D. 1998), did extensive fieldwork and analysis of a Native American language, wrote a book on astrology as a symbol-language, and wrote and edited two volumes on formal and computational linguistics published in 2002, among other research and writings.

Stephen has many years of experience in information technology management and customer software applications. Most recently, Stephen served as vice president and general manager of a software startup in Cambridge, Mass., managing client engagements in the areas of CRM, asset management, and supply chain management. Prior to that, he spent eight years at ZDNET (later CNET), where he led IT groups responsible for enterprise content management, eCommerce, search applications, and data warehousing. Prior to leading the Content Management Practice, Bryant was a Principal Consultant in Molecular’s Program Management group where he has extensive experience in managing the design, development and rollout of content management systems at organizations such as Staples, Oppenheimer Funds, and Analog Devices.
